Spring Forth

Isaiah 43: 19

See, I am doing a new thing!

Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness

and streams in the wasteland.

I am not sure a spring season has been more welcome than spring 2021.

Spring 2020 is the one we will all remember though. The world literally shut down. And it was hard. And the world shifted. And the world changed. A quick blog post isn't enough space to recall all the ways it changed. Books and books and books will be written about it, I am sure.

But, this spring, as I see the trees blossom and baby bunnies in the fields and dandelions sprout and hear baby birds sing a new song, I am reminded that God is a God of new things.

Last year it was hard to see that. It was hard to remember it.

Wilderness: an uncultivated, uninhabited, and inhospitable region.

It has been a season of wilderness. But God creates ways where there was not one.

Wasteland: a land of drought where little will grow.

But God quinches and makes streams in times of drought.

Perceive it.

What new thing is God doing in your life?
